Shahab Tolouie (Iran)

Persian-Spanish Fusion - classical and traditional music with contemporary approach.
/ based in Prague, CZ / trio: Shahab Tolouie, Tomáš Reind, Jan Urbanec

Shahab Tolouie is one of the most inspired contemporary musician of Iran. That explains the strong interest of media in his debut album Tango Perso (2009) including newly released BBC TV channel - FARSÍ. There the interview with Shahab on his new album was released within the music magazine “Kook” and his concert broadcasted as well. Shahab Tolouie’s music is inspired by Persian music which is carefully paralleled with Flamenco elements and is considered by the author as \'EthnoFlamenco\' or ‘Persian Flamenco Fusion’. His compositions besides showing the technique is more of a contact between history and music which is presented in a modern arrangement. Shahab’s great connection of Persian and Flamenco music escorted by eastern singing, demonstrates a cross impact of both old cultures and music. As a multi-instrumentalist Shahab also uses different Persian Traditional instruments such as the Setar, Tanbour, Laud, Daf and Dammam. Shahab has received the Nivel Alto (High Level) flamenco degree after studying his master course in Seville (Spain). After returning back to Iran he was chosen as the first grade relate of The House of Music of Iran, (the main Iranian music association). Shahab published a 300-page guitar method book entitled, “You Can Play Guitar Too” which was very popular in Iran. For long time he cooperated with the Iranian artists charity , which organized many concerts to help collect money for children without parents or for children with mental problems. His style attracted many famous Iranian musicians to cooperate, such as legendary Iranian Sufi and traditional singer, Master Shahram Nazeri. He also played with Kamran Kamkar and studied with Abolhassan Saba. Since residing in Europe, Shahab has shared the stage with great musicians such as Tommy Emmanuel, Dylan Fowler, Andrea Benzoni, Peppino D\'Agostino, Oscar Guzman and Tim Sparks.
