Jagalmaj, the Central Asian Ensemble came to spotlight in 2006
Jagalmaj, the Central Asian Ensemble came to spotlight in 2006. The members of diaspora living in Prague constitute the core of this group, who play Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and other traditional music of the region including nomadic content - a Shamanic dance, the Dance of a Bride to live accompaniment, a Shepherd women song Bekbekei among others, and also an Ujgur dance by the youngest member of the group - 8 year old Saiara. Most of the pieces are performed with komuz, tar and dobra accompaniment.
