KITITI

Elvis has been devoted to music since childhood, when he started singing in the local church choir.

Elvis Kititi - founder of the project (Congo)
Elvis has been devoted to music since childhood, when he started singing in the local church choir. At the same time he was attracted to play guitar and started to learn different traditional and modern congo styles. In 1987 he founded first musical group called AS NOIR - Black Star. He also performed with other groups. Starting the project VOX POPULI he is closing at the same time his career in his home land. In 1993 he is moving to Kena (Nairobi) to play with several yet established Congo bands. Since 1999 he has been living in Czech Republic. There he later on in 2002 founded a new music project TSHIKUNA, focusing on modern rhythms from Kinshasa - soukous, congo rumba etc. He has been collaborating with Czech front artists such as David Koller, Pavel Fajt, Alan Vitoušš, Zuzana Dumková, Eggnoise.... Occasionally he plays with his African friend musicians in Italy and other places over Europe. In 2005 Elvis composed music for the film of Dan Svatek called Blízko nebe.

Collected musical and life experiences inspired Elvis to compose his own repertoar. Those songs settled the base of acoustic project called simply KITITI. Natural fusion of original folkloric tradition with contemporary styles of Congo influenced by Elvis' European culture experiences and his peculiar and individual aproach represents the flavor of KITITI. Elvis is musicaly supported by other band members: Peter Binder who plays guitar and bass guitar, Jakub Rakovčik - keyboard, Dalibor Hocko - percussion. He also collaborates with Pappis Nyass (Gambia).
